Tip for international travelers
You can avoid data roaming charges when outside the US by turning off data roaming and using Wi-Fi hotspots instead of your 3G/4G network. Since calls are charged under your 8x8 calling plan, you shouldn’t have international roaming charges.

User reviews of 8x8 Virtual Office
No go for Samsung i897 (Captivate). My phone is running Cognition 5 v.2 (Android 2.3.3) and when I install this app it asks for "username" and password" If I put my 8x8 info in and click "login" (the only option) it just pops up a "connecting" message, but never connects. I saw some reviews that said this didn't work with some Samsung and HTC phones, but can't find a list of which ones. When I called 8x8 support they told me they know the app doesn't work with some phones, but aren't maintaining a list of which phones those might be. A clear indication that they don't intend to update to fix it if they aren't even tracking what needs to be fixed ;(

finally, this app works with my Galaxy S. in fact, it works perfectly.

I tried this app but ended up uninstalling it. I'm going to try again when they publish a new version. Voice quality is frustratingly choppy no matter whether I used Wi-Fi or 3G. When you make a call there is no sound until it's answered. When checking voice mail you can't use the dial pad to enter your password... So when's the next release scheduled?

Used to work great; now the app will not let me log in. This used to work great on my Droid X (Android 2.3 Gingerbread). Now I cannot even connect to the 8x8 server. I get the message "No response from Account Server.", and then "Error connecting to the Virtual Office Mobile server." I have uninstalled and reinstalled, but that did not help. The app is supposed to be compatible with my phone.

People can't hear me Clients can not hear me when I answer calls through my cell phone(Galaxy S5). Used to work great and I loved this app since it has been giving me trouble I've spent close to a total of 7 hours on the phone w 8x8 tech support. The app will start working again for a short time then fail. So aggravating that it is not reliable makes our firm seem unprofessional having so many communication problems due to 8x8.
