This application uses an advanced formula, that takes into consideration not only your height, weight and waist, but also the hip, neck, wrist and forearm circumference (for women), in order to provide the most accurate body fat estimate you can get without specialized equipment. A person's body fat percentage is the total weight of the person's fat divided by the person's weight and consists of essential body fat and storage body fat. The body fat percentage is a good measure of an individual's fitness level, as it is the only body measurement which directly calculates the particular individual's body composition without regard to the individual's height or weight. The widely-used body mass index (BMI) provides a measure that allows for the comparison of individuals of different heights in terms of their weight. Due to differences in body composition the BMI is not necessarily an accurate indicator of body fat, for example individuals with greater than average muscle mass will have a higher BMI. Many bodybuilding and weightlifting enthusiasts measure their bodyfat percentage using a caliper skinfold test - a professional body fat caliper that measures the thickness of a fold of your skin with its underlying layer of fat. This is the most accurate way to measure your bodyfat, but unless you have the specialized caliper this free app provides the most detailed way to monitor your body composition and the effects of your exercise routine on your body, whether you are a gymrat, powerlifting fan, and bodybuilder or just trying to stay in shape.

Use to be better I used to recommend this app to my clients (I am a personal trainer ) to keep up with their body fat between caliper testing. The last update made it very in accurate. Even on the body builder setting (which should give the lowest) it is registering about 4% high. Please bring back the old version .

Not helpful My activity level has no bearing on the fat that's inside me. A person working out once a week might consider themselves normal, but the same person might consider themselves athletic depending on their !!body fat percentage!! The results of the app change depending on irrelevant and subjective information. It's totally inaccurate and would confuse newbies into thinking they're hot stuff. Stop it. Terrible app.

So simple and a bit ineffective There are lots of different ways to measure body fat. You cannot measure based on activity. It's not that much effective
