Artist's Eye

Artist's Eye

Surprise your friends by becoming an excellent artist just like that.
Artist's Eye is utility that helps you to draw or paint with real pen or pencil to paper or canvas.
Choose model picture (e.g. photo) and while you draw watch your drawing through the phone or tablet (that need to have camera).
Model will be shown semi-transparent on the top of your ongoing drawing helping you to outline the contours. A bit same way as with camera lucida already hundreds of years ago ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Camera_lucida ).
It is best if you can attach phone to some kind of support stand so that it stays still and both hands are free.
This is not cheating but a new way of working and learning as well.

This app got Honorable Mention in the Most Innovative App category in Best App Ever Awards 2013 ( http://www.bestappever.com/android/awards/2013/winner/iapp ).

Tested in Samsung Galaxy S II (Android 2.3.3), Samsung Galaxy 10.1" tab (Android 3.1) and HTC Flyer tab (Android 2.3.4).

Doesn't work, update? This doesn't seem to work on the nexus 7 ( 2013), it only shows a black screen.

Awesome At first I was doubtful but tried it and wow what a great tool. I do think a person who has at least basic sketching skills would get more from it than some one without.. But gve it a try with patients it might surprise you what you can do.

Nice start BUT.... nice start. works well for what it is, but could really use a way to turn the picture from color to black and white.
