Ausante CO2 calculator

Ausante CO2 calculator

This App will help you gain an approximate idea of how many tons of carbon dioxide some of your activities generate annually and keep yourself and your family carbon neutral.
Did you know that over 40% of the CO2 emissions in the developed World come directly from things we all do, such as driving cars or even switching on your PC? Changing our lifestyles will help, but we have to do more, and fast. One way to reduce our impact is to become ‘carbon neutral’, as many large corporations such as airlines are now forced to do, by purchasing carbon credits. These are standardized international units of carbon dioxide removed from the atmosphere by such activities as planting trees which absorb CO2 naturally through photosynthesis. A bit too simplistic - a good start sliders are provided to specify how many kms you drive, fly, take on train, how many kwh of electricity. if only it asked what time period it intended!!!!! months? years? if only it asked how many cans of beer/wine you consume, whether you car-share, whether you have a solar water heater / photovoltaic system........ so much not covered. The key thing is, if you visit their website, it provides no information about the tress they claim to plant! concerning in the credibility front.
