Autosync for Google Drive

Autosync for Google Drive

Autosync for Google Drive lets you automatically sync and share unlimited files and folders with Google Drive cloud storage and with your other trusted devices. Sync and share any files! Photos, videos, documents, PDF, MP3, ebooks, backups,...

New files in your device are instantly uploaded to Google Drive. New files in Google Drive are automatically downloaded into your device. If you delete a file on one side, it will be deleted on the other side. It works across multiple devices (your phone and your tablet). If their folders are synced with the same Google Drive account, they will be kept in sync with each other.

This is how Google Drive desktop client works but it's not the same with the official Google Drive Android app. The Google Drive app is all manual. Autosync for Google Drive is all about automation. For example, it can be configured to instantly upload new photos to a folder in Google Drive. Those photos can be automatically downloaded to your other devices. If you later delete the bad photos on one device or in your Google Drive, this app will delete them everywhere. You take photos by your phone, get home, all those photos automatically show up in your Google Drive folder on your computer. No manual work required.

Two-way automatic sync should be an essential feature of the official Google Drive app itself since the beginning. For whatever reason it is not the case. Autosync for Google Drive is here to fill the gap.

It gets confused Fortunately I can retrieve files from trash in Drive. Otherwise I would have lost quite a few. Also it seems to get the folder structure one layer at a time instead of getting all the folders and connecting them locally. That takes a long time using REST.

Customisable! Everything I want in a sync application! Takes time to get used to the interface though.... But it works really well. Please add support for multiple Google accounts!

Needs better error handling. I have been using Autosync (the pro version) on multiple devices, for many months now. It's served me well. I *have* lost files, but it took extreme actions to do. ;) However, as I have started to rely on it more, and sync with more and more devices, and more alien systems (Linux, Windows and iOS) it has started to encounter files it cannot sync. This isn't completely unexpected, but in it's current incarnation it handles the situation badly. While I've not had it corrupt any files, it does break the entire operation. This means that not only is the problem file not Synced, but no further sync operations are performed on files after that. Worse yet, while it logs great detail about it's successes, about which I only care that it succeeded, of it's errors it only logs that it succeeded the last file, and then failed on one which it doesn't even bother to name, let alone offer an explanation as to what, specifically, it failed to do. (open, compare dates / content, upload or download, begin or complete etc.) I hope future updates by MetaCtrl will allow problem files to be skipped, or at least identified. (so a suitable filter may be applied or the file moved and / or corrected)
