Avare (pronounced "Av Air") is a free moving-map aviation GPS & EFB app.

Canadian topo moving maps and unofficial airport info are also now available and volunteers may add other countries. If you use and enjoy Avare, your optional donation is requested to support expenses & continued development.

Note: Like all apps for portable devices, Avare is not FAA certified but may be used as outlined in FAA documents. Also see our NOTICE below, and the FAQ on our website for links to FAA documents.

Best Android Flight Nav App by far and free. I haven't used any other nav app aside this one since none other come close. The latest ver with virtually all the approach plates geo ref. is finally here. This was one heck of a task done by crowd sourcing. This feature to me is what separates the stellar app from a merely good app. But wait, I think I hear: "we are not done yet".... Can't wait to see what else coming. The app hasn't crashed on me once yet....

Greatest alternative to my ipad app As stated below, it gets better all the time. All of the big quirks seem to be going away. There are a few features I even prefer to my ipad nav app.

Terrible support Its a shame, a great app blinded by the lack of common sense and simplicity... Its support is now through the awkward google group/forum system which is well known to be the wors most stupid forum platform... There IS NOT EVEN A BUTTON THAT SAYS "POST" OR "REPLY"... You have to practically take a training to learn how to post.. In other word... When ypu have a problem with this app you have a second problem because you also must learn how to post in its forum...
