User reviews of BackCountry Nav Topo Maps GPS
Excellent trail and tracking app. Haven't found a better one for Android. Downloading maps for off-network use is simplest I've seen. Customer support is very responsive with ongoing frequent updates as well.

Laggy, not very interactive, has trouble loading maps at times. In no way is this worth $10.

Good app Excellent app. Been using it now for over 2 years. Sold my Garmin before people figered out that it is obsolete. One thing that I noticed is if you download a large amount of satalite imagery at high resolution. I mean like 30 or more square miles bcn will creates an increadable high numer of directories one your device. Mater fact the directory count will be so high that your device will stugle to count the them all. Expect this to slow your device down by exponential amounts when accessing this info.

Learn to use it Each summer I travel to the Western US in order to fly fish and hike. As a general rule, it is your personal responsibility to know where private land ends and public land begins. BCN is invaluable in letting you know when you are in "safe" territory. However, note that this is not a "simple" app. In order to use it efficiently one must spend some time getting to know the various maps that are available, how to set "tracks and waypoints" and how to store maps that will be used "offline". These functions are NOT difficult, but, they do take a bit of time to learn.

Wonky interface, good functionality The UI of this app is as ugly as they come and needs serious rethinking. As long as you are willing to put up with this, the functionality is great. I don't know of anything that comes close on Android.
