BadminScorePro has been developed to assist badminton players umpire matches. Lists of matches to be umpired can be stored on the SD Card as .txt files and used to load in the player names and select the type of match (Singles or Doubles),or these can be manually entered using the keyboard. It has many in built features and safe guards, including writing out .csv files of each match (these can be read by many applications). The number of points, the number of games and setting can be changed and also redefined by editing the bsp.ini file in the BSPData folder.
The colours on the screen (RED - to the umpires left, and GREEN - to the umpires right) are used to clarify the sides and players for easier umpiring.
To protect against points being awarded accidentally, the app uses the concept of a PLAY button (pressed when a rally starts) and then the RED or GREEN button to be pressed to award the point. These buttons are disabled in support of the order of play. (ie. GREEN and RED are disabled if the PLAY button is enabled, and once the PLAY button is pressed the RED and GREEN buttons become enabled and the PLAY button disabled.)
In singles the server box is automatically updated with each point and at the end of each game, and when changing ends, the players names and other information are automatically swapped.
In doubles the server box and receiver box, as well as the side of the court for all four players is displayed.
Games can be finished early in the case of injury, light failure etc., details can be cleared by resetting, and a previous point awarded can be undone.
IMPORTANT - this Free version does not allow use of the Doubles screen nor to write out match file details.
