Beat the Microbead

More and more cosmetics contain microbeads, tiny plastic beads. These microplastics are a hazard to our environment.
It can be hard to determine if a product contains these microbeads. The North Sea Foundation (Stichting de Noordzee) and the Plastic Soup Foundation have developed an app to easily check if a product contains microbeads.
With this app you can check if a product contains microbeads by just scanning the barcode with your Android device camera.
This new version of the APP recognizes many more products and has localised product listings. New countries are continuously added, so chances are that your country is included or will be included soon. Beat the Micro Bead is now a truly worldwide campaign!

Great app - please fix Ireland region? Great idea. I managed to submit a product fairly easily. Could you please update "Ire" to "Ireland" in your region list though. Every other country is listed with its full name and it's not immediately obvious that Ire is Ireland as it's not an abbreviation that is normally used. It's also very unclear what the red/white switch means. I'm guessing red means that it contains micro beads? Yes/No would make a lot more sense.

Microbead hater First off I hate microbeads. They break me out. I thought the app would be great! But none of the products I have were on the account, and after trying to add them, I noticed I couldn't. I tried looking for them and couldn't find what I had just added. Also database is small. The red/white switch is confusing. Should be yes or no. And your scanner is tiny should be bigger.

Great idea that needs fine tuning I'd help add products but I had to send an email just to figure out what the red/white switch means. Bigger database needed and I think people who d/l this would help do that...just needs to make more sense.

Fatal defect I think the reason there are so few products is because when you try to add a product which way do I flip the switch to say it has microbes? Red or white? It should be yes or no. This is so frustrating to see. One terrible design mistake kills the app.

Great concept, but... So far none of my products have been found in this database, they were labeled 'unknown'. And there needs to be an ingredients list for things to watch out for so I can find out by myself if my products contain these microplastics.
