I love it I have always loved thunderstorms, and so was very happy to find this app. I was tracking lightening strikes as they hit the south coast of the UK last night using this app, and was looking forward to them arriving in Surrey, and they did! I found the app very accurate, and the alarm feature worked well. Next time I know thunderstorms are aproaching, I can warn my family / friends in advance. I would love to get more involved by investing in a detector, but Looking at the equipment, I don't think I am skilled enough to get the soldering iron out and start messing with circuit boards etc. Thanks to everyone involved in this project.

This is a fantastic little app and could potentially save your life! I'm a little concerned as to why the app appears to monitor your GPS location even when “Alarm enabled” function is switched off and the app is closed? Every time I wake up my Samsung S4 Blitzortung Lightning Monitor requests my GPS position? I've now switched the apps “location mode” to "Manual entry" and the issue has disappeared, but I’m assuming there’s still a background service still running. Could the developer please comment on this as I’m a little nervous to why this app needs to know the devices location even when it’s not in use? Thanks :-)

Useless. Been waiting all day as a big storm was reported to be heading this way.. downloaded the app and nothing on there.. There's huge flashes and lightning streaks across the sky and the app shows nothing. A load of bullshit..
