BotBrew Basil EXPERIMENTAL

BotBrew Basil EXPERIMENTAL

This is an EXPERIMENTAL build of BotBrew that uses Dpkg and Apt instead of Opkg. It's a pretty rough work-in-progress and definitely has bugs, but it represents the future of BotBrew. So please be gentle :) and mind the bleeding edge!

ROOT privileges are required, as usual.
Only ARM is supported at the moment, but we'd like to support x86 and MIPS in the future if possible.

Usage details may be found on the xda-developers forum -- http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=26261600&postcount=119

Before deleting the BotBrew bootstrap directory, open the control/preferences window and hit *exit* to make sure everything has been unmounted properly.

Apt-get prompt during bootstrap Probably you just should enable user input

Bug report. Nexus 7. All keyboards are not able to input console. In this version all keyboards from Nexus 7 are not able to input in console during initial installation (apt-get configuration). Please fix it.

LG G2 4.2.2 Cannot complite installation because console asks anything and does not accept any pressed key, even enter (( another thing is that boostrap script does not use provided custom botbrew install path. Otherwise idea is great. Will check later.

It broke my tablet (JB4.1), had to reflash to fix it. Using on a Pro Tab 2 XXL Jelly Bean 4.1 Stock ROM (Same as Go Clever A103) I couldn't input a requested option during apt-get setup because the stock keyboard would not write on the terminal window opened during installation. I had to close the app and when I tried to reinstall the whole system crashed and the tablet would not reboot (it got stuck on boot logo every time I tried). I had to reflash the ROM. Be warned: experimental support means experimental.

Crippled device, barely able to uninstall Okay, I understand experimental. But what did this thing do, start trying to play with mounts?!! After installing this thing, it showed nothing available, so I assumed it was broken and forgot. Later, my wallpaper was gone (custom wallpaper slideshow app), "unfortunately,..." errors left and right, and trying to uninstall BotBrew just crashed Package Installer. Also needs a better description... I was linked directly to this experimental build and didn't know "experimental" meant "look below for stable"!
