The British Gas app has been downloaded over a million times because it puts you in control. It’s quick and easy to submit your meter readings, see your bills and make payments – anytime, anywhere.

Download the app to keep an eye on the energy you’re using and compare it to other customers in your area to check if you’re on track.

The app also lets you:
• Log in or register for a new account
• Submit your gas and electricity meter readings
• View and pay your energy bill (and download a PDF version)
• Change your Direct Debit payments
• See all your account information (like your tariff, account balance and payment history)
• Monitor how much energy you’ve used with month-by-month graphs
• Book an engineer or your Annual Service visit
• Read your meter in the dark with our built-in torch function.

Business customers don’t need to log in. Just tap ‘Business Customers’ on the home screen.

HAVING PROBLEMS?

If you’re having issues using the app, email us at [email protected] Please include:
- a brief description of the problem
- which version of the operating system you’re using
- the email address you use to log in.

Using a tablet? The app isn’t specifically designed for them, so that might be the problem.

This app will ask your permission for a few things, like making calls from your phone (so you can make emergency calls straight from the app) and using your built-in camera (to use the flash as a torch so you can read your meter in the dark).

The app won’t process any other personal data. We’ll securely store your information and won’t share it with anyone else. For the full details of how we use your details, have a look at our privacy policy.

Recent changes:

Won't let me log in Since the forced update it won't let me log in. The same details work fine using the Web site. The app is now useless.

Very good.. I've always loved this app, and is one of many reasons I stay with British Gas. When we had issues last month with the app not working I submitted an error report and the tech team actually rang me to resolve the issues!! Amazing, 5 stars for the tech support. However the app is still logging me out all the time, hopefully something that can be fixed in the coming updates. 😇

Absolute crap I put in my reading every month and every month I get an email saying you can't process it!! wtf!!

Useful app but has it's faults I'm sick if having to type in my username and password every time the application is updated. Please add a feature to retain this information between updates.
