The other day we were asked by a mate of ours to send them a phone number, and the sheer amount of hassle involved in copying a phone number from the Android address book made us want to write this app. So we did, and here it is.
There's not much to it; you can either start it from your launcher and click a button to pick a contact to send (only contacts with phone numbers will be displayed), or you can go into your People/Contacts app and choose Share. Either way your default SMS client should launch with the number you selected pasted in the text and ready to go.
- Nice Holo theme.
- Can copy the phone number to the clipboard.
- Quite small.
- No ads as we hate them.
- android.permission.READ_CONTACTS - Used to read contact phone numbers.
Questions and Answers:
Q: Why is this better than the other apps that do this?
A: Well it looks nicer we think, with a Holo theme going on, and also has our logo which we're particularly fond of.
Q: Can you add [feature]?
A: We won't make any promises, but if it's a logical extension of the app and isn't too difficult we'll take a shot at it. Drop us an email.
Q; C2SMS is a stupid name.
A: Sure, but we thought "Send A Contact Via SMS" was a bit too unwieldy. "Contact to SMS" was snappier and shortening it with numbers and stuff like we're told the cool kids do was the logical next step.
Q: What kind of a name is SiCoDe?
A: One that's quite difficult to dictate to people over the phone. We're nice like that.
Q) I have a problem, who do I contact?
A) Get in touch with us via email and we'll do our best to help. Please include your Android version, your phone model and whether or not you can tie your own shoelaces as we find this information helpful in resolving problems.
Q) Can I have it in my language if I send you a translation?
A) Sure, if you tell us what the words should be. Drop us an email and we'll send you one back with all the text that needs translating - it's a small app so there's not much.

Everything is shiny, unspoilt and new. There is a faint trace of new car smell and a niggling feeling at the back of the developers' minds that they've forgotten something important.
