Call Recorder

Please, read the description. There's a link to a trial version!

The app is intended for automatic call recording from the phone line where supported by hardware and kernel.

Root access is a must for many phones, as manufacturers often won’t implement the required functionality.

There are 4 recording methods:
- Standard API
- CAF (root required)
- ALSA (root requried)
- Kernel (root required)

Standard API - method which doesn’t require root access. Check out every audio source before using. Many phones support recording using this method, from the microphone only (audio source “Microphone” should be selected).

CAF and ALSA - both methods require root access. Device settings in settings → recording are very important here. If your phone isn’t listed, select a device which has the same chipset as yours. The main difference between CAF and ALSA is that CAF doesn’t require ALSA installation, and supports more functions.

Kernel - recording method for phones based on old chipsets by Qualcomm; root is required. This method doesn’t guarantee 2 way call recording.

Which recording method is better?
Neither recording method can ensure that your calls will be recorded from the line; this is phone-specific. And you have to try and find out the one that fits your phone if it’s not auto-detected.

Best application for call recording. HTC Desire Z with ICS
Jun 29, 2012
An app which I consider VITAL for my SGSII. For example: Even when I had to buy a new phone, one of the apps I 'HAD to install' amongst first, was Juice Defender. And the same goes for this one. EXCEPTIONAL! Works flawlessly.

Dodali mi tą aplikację do romu CM7 KANG, działa prawidłowo, nagrywa rozmowy, jednak jest potrzebna modyfikacja kernelu, bez tego może nie działać prawidłowo

The BEST & MOST RELIABLE Call Recorder for Android.. I honestly believe that anyone who gives this app anything less than 5 stars, is an idiot. I know there are exceptions as far as rooting goes (like people who can't due to having a "work phone"), but for the rest there's absolutely no reason not to root your phone. It's not the devs fault if you refuse to root your phone, and he can't just magically make it work without root on some devices like you idiots expect him to. This is the BEST call recording app you'll find and it's worth every single penny.

Bluetooth issues Love the simplicity of this app and very useful when running a small business, however it is almost useless cause it will not work properly with my bluetooth. I use an LG Tone headset connected to my Galaxy Note 2 and it only records one side of the conversation. If this is fixed I will bump to 5 star for sure

Only Call Recorder I've found that works on my Nexus 4 I tried and tried, every "free" call recorder. None worked with my bluetooth headset. This is the only call recorder that works. OK $9.95 see s a bit steep, but hey it works!! And if you need to record your conversations, it's worth it :-) P.S. It only works on the bluetooth for recording both sides of the conversation. Playback seems to only work via mobile speaker , ergo only 4 stars:-(

Galaxy note 3 help For those using note 3 can you tell us how you got it working? Did you have to root? What settings are you using?
