Best and easiest app I've used for Geocaching. Best and easiest app I've used for Geocaching. Very easy to use, and very fun. Only wish it imported the image links from the site, but if you feel you NEED those, you can just hop on the site from your phone and check em out. The app is intuitive and very simple, you can log right from the app and give reviews or comments on each cache. Very cool integrated map with fast and accurate GPS pickup. If you want to be redundant grab the GPS from the car and follow along, but you will find that it is pretty darn accurate, down to 5 meters in most situations. However if you lose phone signal the GPS maps won't update, and it won't find anything around you, but that's expected. Other Geocaching apps seem to want you to be a premium member of some site, or cross reference your data or GPX files, that can be a huge pain, this app searches around your current location and puts a pin where ever the geocache is located. Making it great for first time users and very fun. You can also add a cache right from your phone, so if you have some set up in your back pack and decide that where you are is a pretty awesome place for a cache, you can drop one and log it on the site instantly. This app wins.

Great App Wish that more people would use opencaching. For those of you that aren't aware, geocaching is an ACTIVITY not a website or another app, even though that's what they call it. Geocaching has been around longer than your phone or even before gps handheld units and the other site (which I do also use) did not invent it and does not hold any type of trademark on geocaching. Also, when it gives you the openauth page saying that it couldn't be found... Click the link and you'll be signed in.

NOT geocaching I've looked at some of the reviews on this app, and decided to install it just so I can help out those people understand what they're installing. If you're looking for a Geocaching app, the best ones are either c:geo (my preference), or Groundspeak's official Geocaching app. The OpenCaching app IS NOT FOR GEOCACHING! It's for Garmin's competition to geocaching, named the same as the app. Thus, it's not a bug that there aren't any "geocaches" showing in your area with this app. It runs off its own database of *opencaches* (they call it geocaches in their system, but that will just confuse people, so I'm calling it opencaches for the sake of distinctiveness). Being new to the race for the best geocaching-like sport, and--as evidenced after 3 years of operating and not getting any opencaches out there--too late to be successful, you will not see much in your area, wherever you are. Garmin cannot fix this unless they realize their failure and embrace Groundspeak's database of geocaches, offering an alternative interface for geocaching rather than attempting their own system of caches. Cheers.

Not For Me Doesn't show caches in my neighborhood that I know are there. This app needs data via wifi or network. This is unacceptable. Uninstalling. Sorry Garmin your app stinks. I use my 60Cx instead.

ok app, no caches Site is largely abandoned by Garmin. The app itself is ok, but with no caches backing it and very little interest in supporting Garmin's site, this really isn't worth while.
