2 years/2 devices in - uninstalled I finally gave in and reverted back to the default messaging app on my S5. I used Hangouts on my S3 and neither experience has been very reliable. I loved the idea of the integration but it is flawed and the MMS features are terrible. -Creating a group text is very hit and miss (more miss than hit) and when i receive a group text, i have to disable my WiFi, and then download the "failed" message to view. -selecting people to send group messages to is not intuitive and seems to only work if the first recipient does not have an existing conversation stored on your phone. -sending photos requires basically the same WiFi disabling process discussed for group messaging. I have to disable my WiFi before I am able to download or upload photos. I'm pretty sure that over the last 6 months that 50% of received/sent photos made it to the intended recipient. Not a good hit rate. Overall these are the two issues that I've had with Hangouts--which i consider two basic and major flaws. I like that I can have voicemails, text messages, and video calling all in one place, but until the MMS issue is resolved, this will be a secondary app used only for video calling.

Good but more can be done Something that would make the app better when sending messages is allowing one to send photos, videos, and other media files in the middle of the text rather than JUST at the beginning. The current version only allows one to attach a media file at the beginning of the message and then proceed to type. It would be better and more efficient to have that option throughout the duration of a message instead of just at the beginning.
