HabitRPG

HabitRPG

HabitRPG is a habit-building program which treats your life like a Role Playing Game. Level up as you succeed, lose HP as you fail, earn money to buy weapons and armor, compete with your friends.

https://habitrpg.com (the website) has been around for about one year, and has additional features such as guilds, parties, pets, random drops, tags, difficulty settings, etc. We're going to be pulling in features bit-by-bit into the mobile app - but we wanted to get this initial release out there so people can start using it, and hopefully contributing (open source at https://github.com/habitrpg/habitrpg-mobile). If you experience bugs, please jump into https://github.com/habitrpg/habitrpg-mobile/issues. Android 2.3.x users - we'll enable for devices once we can fix the CSS / Angular issues found at http://goo.gl/p9x2Pz

We've added push notifications!* Now, in addition to getting reminders to log in, you can get notified about other important things, like the fact that your quest has started and all your friends will get stomped by a gryphon if you don't complete your Dailies.

You know. The essentials.

Enjoy!

Great idea, good web app, sluggish Android app HabitRPG makes so much sense, you wonder why it wasn't made earlier, and why similar apps (like "Epic Win") faded away, unmaintained. The core mechanics are pretty solid, and the service receives regular updates. However, the interface and implementations are not as smooth, and while the mobile app (built with PhoneGap) is lovely to have, it is dreadfully sluggish at times (as the web site can be, too). A native app is in the works, but until then, this one will have to do.

Too slow. This app is literally too slow to use. Which is a shame because the Ipad version works perfectly.

Getting there... 6/1/2015: Can now log in on the app, but it doesn't always update to the server correctly, so when I check of what I've done it isn't always registering. Not good when on a quest, but way better than before. I find it helpful when out and about as a reminder, but still need to check the website from a PC when I get home. Original review "The app won't even let me log in! doesn't matter if I use my FB information or the 32 digit UUID from the website that they claim will work! Very disappointing!"

Great game, awful app The full website is excellent but I often don't have time to log in at my computer. I downloaded the app thinking it would help me save time but it is very slow and glitchy.
