ClutchPad

ClutchPad

This product is now free. It does NOT work on 4.3. I have not had the time to support this product but do plan on creating a launcher like this in the future. If you recently purchased this product please email me and I will be happy to give you a refund.

Purpose:
The purpose of Clutch Pad is to help users improve their navigation of Android activities and adapt to each individuals navigational flow. Swipe and Click for shortcuts from the edge of your screen!

________________
IMPORTANT:
Please uninstall old version if upgrading to prevent FC. You need to redo your settings... but lots more customizations added to try :)
Too many needed changes to prevent this but will make sure this will not happen in the next versions to come.

So how does it work ...what does it do?

Surface button: The driver behind CP is the surface button which you can see in the left side of all of my screenshots above. It’s that little half circle attached to the left wall about halfway up. You can tap on it, swipe in various directions on it, and even long press on it to make it complete tasks.

Events: These are the tasks you want to accomplish while using Clutch Pad. If you want to bring up your favorite apps, you can set up a “swipe left” on it. If you want to tap on the surface button to bring up all recent tasks, that’s another event. Stuck in your browser and want your app tray? Then set up a down swipe that will bring up your home launcher.

Visual tweaks: You can place the surface button wherever you’d like, customize the look of it entirely, and even change the color of it.

Dialog Animation: You can set this to mimic whatever look your are trying to get...for example, grow and fade dock or stack :)

Main Features: Favorites, Ignore List, Last Task, Home Launcher, Recent Tasks, Toggle Button, Spotlight, Placement Configuration, Dialog Animations, Surface Button Appearance

Featured on: Droid-Life, Life Hacker, Androidica

I know some bugs still exist and will be a little longer before the new version of Clutch Pad will be released. Sorry for the delay and my life is finally getting back to a norm! Blog will be updated as I make progress from here forward.

User reviews of ClutchPad

Clever app with potential. Positioning controls a bit tricky to operate, sensitivity of the required 'tap' to initiate needs some work, and it would be good if the icon could respond to screen colour and go light or dark depending on the background. But perfectly usable as is and hopefully the developer can work the issues. [Update] v1.2 is realising the potential of the App with more to come. Highly commended. [Update] v1.4 provides excellent additional functionality. Clutch is now my routine way of navigating between apps and screens. Excellent.

This is a pretty nice app, makes moving between apps much better than the home button. You can actually tell what's really running, not what may have been. @arabold I can't trust a competitor app vendor (such as yourself, the developer of Perfect Task Switcher) who writes bad reviews on a competitor app.

arabold aka Andre Rabold, Please rate my app based off of usability and functionality. I simple used keywords to help users find my app. How does that effect my trust as a developer? Please email me directly if you have a problem or concern and I will be sure to address it private or public via my forum. ...and by the way, thanks for using keywords in your app descriptions, I guess its a valid and good idea huh?

Advertising an app by using competitive apps as a keyword makes me not really trusting in this app vendor.

Great potential But there's no way that i know of that i can just use my screen from literally any point i choose meaning if i decide i want to Swype from the middle of the screen i should be able to do that without having to set the app to allow that. I also can't seem to get rid of the tab and just use my screen so its getting really annoying real fast

Doesn't work Using a nexus 4, running aokp. Clutch doesn't work at all. Missed the refund window too, so I really hope the dev sees this and either fixes it or at least can provide a refund.
