CPU tuner (Rooted phones)

CPU tuner (Rooted phones)

CPU tuner gives you control over the power consumption of your android device.
Its prime purpose is to be a battery saver and to save as much battery as possible, but it can be used to overclock at the same time (if the kernel of your device supports it).

Depending on triggers (based on the battery) different profiles are loaded. Each trigger has different profiles depending of the the state of your phone (if it is locked, on battery, on power or a phone call is being done).

A profile can modify the following:
* The CPU governor, its thresholds and min/max frequencies off your CPU (i.e. setCPU speed).
* The state of services like:
- mobiledata connection
- 3G/2G switch
- background sync
- wifi
- bluethooth
- airplane mode

Configurations (i.e. a set of trigger and profiles) can be loaded based on the time of the day and the day of the week. This allows you to set a different behaviour during the night or the weekend.

You best generate a capabilities report first, by going to settings then to backend and choose capabilities report, when it is done hit send (and save the mail as draft). Then describe your issue (and if possible attach a logcat output along with the zip file from the report).

A note on permissions: Yes there are a lot and potentially dangerous permissions needed, but cpu tuner does not request the network communication permission which means that cpu tuner cannot send any information back. Further more cpu tuner is opensource so you can browse the code and check....

User reviews of CPU tuner (Rooted phones)
Some people still dont know what "rooting" your device means. You have to have your phonr ROOTED in order for this thing to work. That said: THIS APP WORKS FLAWLESSLY FOR DROID 1. Sholes. Get this app! 800MHz baby - it is a HUGE difference when you force the CPU to be at 600 minimum to 800MHz (the theoretical Over-clocking and top limit Overclocked allowed in this app), your - even Droid - will feel so close to the iPhone3, you will pee in your pants. Not Quite the iPhone4 speed in smoothness, but DAMN smoother than the Eris or Droid when even NEW. Has it been 2 years already? Breath new life into that old thing, or get the Droid 3 and cum all over yourself in excitement at its new top forced speeds! WOW! the D3 FLYS, and still no battery drain noticeable! You will see a bit of batt drain on the old Droid1, but a new battery should take care of that for a while. This app really is that good. Comments like J's in Market baffle me; it is so obvious he hasnt even bothered to try and swipe the setup screens to change what the Governors do! Unbelievable - then again, when I was a kid, I was very impatient, too! Christmas Carol in Market has no clue - this app doesnt Kill ANY app. She might want a process killer - that aint this app. If you want Voltage Control, you will want SETcpu app instead of this - you cant use them both due to some device limitations, and might cause SETcpu to be flaky.

It definitely does work on the ZTE Blade. There are some very complicated options, profiles etc, but if you kinda know what you're looking at, and what kind of speed you want at specific battery levels, then this apps works brilliantly

slows down the sgs i9000 with 2.2, just one gov available anyways. uninstalled, less is more.

I guess it works. Really kinda hard to say. I have all the defaults, yet some of the features don't appear to be supported on the HTC Incredible. I think they really need to publish some good documentation. Rooted HTC Droid Incredible.

Please add export/import capability for profiles and triggers. This would rock the app even further.
