DAAP Media Player

DAAP Media Player

DAAP Media Player allows you to stream your music from a DAAP share such as mt-daapd (firefly), Rhythmbox, forked-daapd, tangerine, most NAS devices such as FreeNAS, QNAP servers, and older versions of iTunes.

DAAP is a proprietary protocol similar to HTTP developed by Apple for use with iTunes music sharing. Still used by modern versions of iTunes, the computer community has reverse engineered an older version of this protocol for streaming their own music. This application provides this functionality on an Android device.

DAAP Media Player is an open source application. Bugs and feature requests may be made at the official project page (http://code.google.com/p/daap-client/).

User reviews of DAAP Media Player
Geting process.org.mult.daap has stopped unexpectedly on my Motorolla Photon. I can connect with the web interface (fireplay) but of course it is not user friendly for a phone. My music colloection is all mp3's and is 1.5 TB in size.

Not a bad choice for DAAP music playing Just a bit clumsy to use and took MUCH longer than some of the other clients to end up with only 50% of the library. Might work for you, but for me there are better options in the play store.

Basic Good auto-discover of server. No NowPlaying, no album art. No genres. Playlists sorted by artist. Queuing of tracks only, can't queue an album.

Very bad app! Failed to locate and load my daap library. Try SharePlay instead. At least it managed to play my songs....
