Datafix

Datafix

This app can install the know "new datafix" script for you. But that is not all: you can control with the touch of your finger which data will be on the fast but small /datadata partition and which can reside on the slower but big /data partiton.

And it doesn't stop there: we can also clear app's data and cache from within the app. That is good because that function was lost when breaking the symlink from /data/data to /datadata.

The script is only applicable for the Samsung Galaxy S and all its variants (Vibrant, Captivate etc) as long as you are running a ROM that originates from CM 9, 10 or AOKP (and has this /datadata partition).
Obviously it requires root for apps enabled in CM settings.

Please don't download and try to use when you do not know what this is all about!

It will be way more productive to comment there than in the reviews for the app.

Messed up the phone Messed up the phone after restart. I just moved a few apps only though. I would not recommend if you don't know what are you doing and you flash a lot. My problem might have been compatibility issue or something.

An elegant solution to a major problem I'm trying to get some more time out of my old Galaxy S i9000 and with modern apps being bulkier and bulkier, there's no way they are all going to fit on the small /datadata partition. This guy has put significant effort into a solution that works for most users. He could have solved his own issues with a simple startup script, since he's obviously capable of that. Instead he made this for us all to easily use. If you're complaining about this being too technical... well it's a rooted app for a custom firmware - kind of goes with the territory. I don't think it's hard to understand for it's "audience". Good work.

Horrible UI, but works as advertised This app sites some magic to move app data to another partition, but it'll take some reading to get it done. The interface is too technical! I moved the cache of my three biggest apps there and freed up 60mb. Thanks!
