CNET DFX Review - “Makes your MP3s sound way better. Hear its magical effect on your music.” - Rated 5 stars

DFX Player is the first Music Player to provide true Professional Audio Quality to Android devices.

DFX Player was created by an engineering team that developed award winning audio technology used by Grammy winning producers and engineers.

Thanks to the recent advances in Android device processing speed and power, DFX audio processing technology is finally available on your Android phones and tablets.

DFX processing technology restores high frequency harmonics that were damaged in the MP3 encoding process and also dramatically increases your bass frequency response without lowering your playback levels. DFX also restores the lost natural depth to your music for a more natural listening experience.

The DFX Player also includes a truly professional multi-band EQ that has been used by Grammy winning producers and engineers.

Finally you can fully enjoy your MP3 songs without the unnatural muffled sound and limited bass response of past music players and make EQ adjustments without distortion or loss of quality.

Features:
• Uses advanced DSP processing to dramatically improved sound quality and bass response over existing Android music players

• Powerful yet easy to use Song, Artist and Playlist based music selection and playback methods

• Includes multiple DFX audio processing presets to best optimize DFX for your listening environment and personal tastes, including Bass Boost presets

5x Sound Quality - 2x Interface/Options I so want to say this app rocks. Pros: I have DFX on my PC and the difference between on/off is amazing. The same goes for my Android... sound quality is just outstanding. Music feels alive, and the bass I spent hours tweaking for in Poweramp, MediaMonkey, and MixZing is suddenly big but not distorted. As others have noted, it also provides a pretty significant volume increase. Cons: Unlike its PC brethren, the Android DFX processor is a standalone music player and does not effect other audio on the device. The music player is very basic: Can't select music by Genre or Type (i.e. Podcast, Audiobook, Classical). Can't select music folders (so audio books, pod-casts, and other audio is randomly in the mix). No lyrics lookup, art lookup, or song queuing. The player also does a pretty shoddy job of interpreting the file tags. Playlist tracks are listed as "unknown artist" with no album art, but I can find the artist/artwork if I navigate through the Artists tab. Conclusion: Despite all its flaws, DFX still provides the best sound I've experienced on any of my Android devices so... it stays as my primary player.
