Divorce Coping Tip of the Day

Divorce Coping Tip of the Day

If you are struggling with the angst of separation and divorce, this might be the perfect app for you right now. It’s a simple gem of inspiration called our ‘Coping Tip of the Day’, it’s free and you can have it delivered to your device every day.

It was created by Simon West of Magic Oxygen Publications and the tips are written by Tracey West, author of ‘Poetry of Divorce: for Women’ (available from 8th April from all good retailers). She is divorced and knows all too well how painful and difficult it can be wading through this volatile period. There’s paperwork to keep abreast of, uncharacteristic and unsavory behaviours to contend with, difficult conversations to get through and all that with friends and family throwing advice or spears; sometimes all you want to do, is stop the ride and get off.

The Coping Tip of the Day has been created to help you find respite from the madness. It should be enjoyed during a pocket of the day where you think about yourself and how you’re coping with it all. It’s there to help you balance your mental and physical health and well being and it has been written for women and men, irrespective of whether they are parents or not.

References to supporting agencies, like counselling services and domestic abuse organisations for example, is UK centric but the advice is sound regardless of your location; overseas subscribers may have to seek local equivalent agencies.

The tips are solid nibbles of emotional and practical help and advice and there’s nothing airy-fairy about them, they are tangible and they work. We do accept that not every single tip will have relevance to your situation, but a great many will, so if you see something you cannot work with, hang fire, another one will be along in the morning.

The tips are completely non-vitriolic, you’ll not find anything advising you to slice up your partners clothes or clean the toilet with their toothbrush, but they will present you with ways to balance out your pain or feelings of desperation. Above all, we hope they will leave you with a sweet and positive taste in your mouth as you continue to put one foot in front of the other.

We hope you’ll be tempted to look at the Poetry of Divorce books by Tracey West, in both paperback and e-book. The women’s version is available from April 2013 and the men’s version, in early 2014. You can find out all about them at PoetryOfDivorce.com. You might like to know that part of the proceeds from their sales will be donated to a women’s refuge in the author’s home county and another charity that helps women in crisis.

The website is also a positive resource for anybody going through the process of recent separation and ensuing divorce. You’ll find proper news on it, no whingeing and whining about which celebrity is taking their other half to the cleaners. The resources section is particularly helpful for anybody dealing with domestic violence or abuse and perhaps above all, the information shared on there will remind you that you are not alone in your divorce. Many others are going through trying times and that thought can occasionally alleviate some of your pain.

For now, all you need to do is download the app, get yourself out of that spiralling nightmare that is divorce and get back on track!
