Don Quixote

Don Quixote

The official Android version of the boardgame by Reinhard Staupe!

The noble Don Quixote imagines his small principality: Knights protect its castles and borders; roads connect windmills and churches. Not all will connect in a logical way but that doesn't matter to him. He can still dream...

You have 22 tiles to place in your principality. Like Carcassonne and other path-building tile-laying games, Don Quixote requires timely decisions and risk-taking with a twist: instead of choosing where to place your next tile, the game chooses the location and you choose which tile to place there! Connect your principality's roads to protect its castles and borders with knights, and link your churches and windmills to score points.

Featuring achievement levels to unlock the two expansions: Sancho Pansa and Veto.

With original illustrations by Oliver Freudenreich.

Frustrating No matter how carefully you plan, you just don't have enough control to make genuine decisions.

Quite a Thinker Good strategy puzzle game. Takes a close look at the scoring rules to understand. Would be great if there was a running total of your border knights' strength. There is room to do this and it would allow faster play. Maybe it could be grayed out like the largest knight group. Then, when you reach the threshold for each round, it would become colored. Thank you for not including any intrusive app permissions. I'm pleased.

After 100 games, you'll start to get the hang of it. Good game. I'm addicted to it. But that may be due to an unconscious insistence on figuring the darn thing out. The instructions are, ironically, complete yet insufficient. They tell you how to play and how to score, but that's it. The reason this is important is that DQ does not play as you'll probably be expecting. Read the rules with care, and watch the scoreboard as you place and rotate each tile. Things that score for you or look promising one turn may become instantly expendable the next. (No ads)

UI underdone The graphics and the usability definitely leave a bit to be desired.

Good price, great for that spare 5 minutes. Many different ways of scoring points and is confusing at first. Soon develops into an obsession. Still trying to get second achievement, but more importantly still want to play to get it!
