Dot The Spot

Never forget a good place! Dot The Spot is a new app to mark, share, and discover places. Dot creates a record of your favorite places by letting you mark (Dot) them and add context (Jots and Dot Lists).

Share and discover new dots with friends (or keep them secret). You can organize dots into lists, and see other lists to be inspired... Examples include: Best Foodie Spots, Fun Things to Do in San Francisco, A Wine Tour Through Napa, Kid-Friendly Restaurants, Best Study Spots, Where to Go When A Friend Visits...

GOOD USES FOR DOT THE SPOT:

Make your mark on maps... Easily customize a map to see your favorite places nearby, or what friends recommend.

Create lists of places under a theme and browse others' lists to get inspired.

Never forget a good place by marking places you want to remember.

Share a detail, tip, or image about a place (add a jot).

Trying to figure out where to eat, shop, relax, or play… Dot The Spot will show nearby venues your friends have endorsed and lists to inspire you.

FEATURES INCLUDE:

DOT THE SPOT – MARK AND REFERENCE YOUR PLACES

A Dot says a place is worth remembering. Dot a Spot by touching the Dot It button. See your dots on a map or in your profile (My Dot). See friends’ dots too! (if they opt to share).

DOT LISTS – ORGANIZE AND SHARE YOUR PLACES UNDER A THEME

Create your own collections of dots. Keep your lists private, or share with others. Examples may include: Crafty Beer Bars, Best Dog-Friendly Brunch Spots, Local Boutiques Worth a Peek, or My Weekend Jaunt to Napa…

JOTS – SAVOR THE MOMENT, SPREAD THE KNOWLEDGE

A Jot is a brief note about a place. This might include something you want to remember (what you ordered), something worth sharing (a picture of that great gift you found), or a secret tip (an off-the-menu option). Jots are short – an image and some words.

DOT BEACON INTERACTION – GET THE SCOOP ABOUT WHERE YOU ARE, BY WAVING YOUR PHONE

Dot Beacons are interactive dots in real spots (local businesses). When in range, wave your phone in a circle, or touch the explorer icon in the app and the DOT beacon will instantly surface information about the venue (no searching required). Currently only available in San Francisco. Bluetooth 4.0 required.

With Dot The Spot, find your places fast and make sure experiences are always worth a Dot!
