Emergency Text Alert

Emergency Text Alert

Emergency Text Alert

It could save someone you love. Or maybe just save you from being chewed out because you didn’t hear that important text arrive and never even checked for the little icon at the top of the screen.

Here’s how it works. Download the app, then…

Select anyone in your contact list.

Enter the code words or phrases that will trigger an Alert, an Emergency, or will be used to disable either.

Be sure to select a code that is unlikely to occur in any text message.

If the potential caller has an Android Phone, have them download SomebodySaveMe. Enter the matching codes in that program. Otherwise, just let them know the codes.

When a code is detected in a Text Message, a Notification will be posted. The Notification will repeat every two minutes. To respond, pull down the Notification Bar and click on the Notification. You’ll be able to click and call back the calling number.

If the caller is using SomebodySaveMe, and has a location service activated, you’ll get a map of the caller’s location.

Good concept, but not there yet. This would be a five star app if the following changes were made: 1. Combine both ETA and SSM apps into one. Having to download different ones on each device is ridiculous. 2. App should automatically turn phone volume up and have its own ring tones. Getting notified of an emergency in silent (or vibration) mode is useless. 3. Incorporate a widget or a combination of button presses to quickly/easily send notifications. Without these changes, it is just an app that texts GPS coordinates.

Nice app I wish I could easily change the notification sound.
