More than adequate... Having seen many reviews complaining of "boosting frequencies reduces volume", an equalizer is best used sparingly to slightly shape a signal closer to flat or to your taste by REMOVING frequencies which are offensive or overbearing. Boosting frequencies should be in small increments as it lends an artificial enhancement not there in the recording. So yes, there is some form of built in "limiting" where if you crank 60hz up to +10 or more db, depending on the amount of that frequency in the recording itself, the app compresses & limits the overall volume. Sort of like if your tires are sliding, you're going to fast! Back the frequency down. The app's limiting is saving you from blowing up your speaker(s)! In my case, the loudness feature doesn't work or respond... I read that it works only in Android 4.4+. Used judiciously, this app can save some pretty hopeless car speakers (like my 2 speaker am/fm unit in my 2003 box truck) and make them tolerable. It can also enhance the sound of a good or great vehicle sound system. The reverb effects are subtle but not very pleasing to the ear, the virtualization sounds a bit like "doubling" but there is no noise or distortion from the app.

Does not seem to work with Android 5.0.1!!! Everyone needs an equalizer to get optimum sound from their various speaker devices. And each device needs it's own settings. So, why does the default Android equalizer only support one custom setting? This app mostly fixes that flaw, with quick response to setting changes, making it easy to dial it in. Nit: if you are going to occupy my notification tray (and I prefer you didn't) can't you at least do something useful?
