The only app on the market that does all four - Caller Id, Gmail, SMS, and Battery low status. It is very easy to use, and requires very little of your phone's resources. You can quickly activate or deactivate what should be read out loud.
Using separate apps to do these things (read texts, caller Id or Gmail) requires more of your phone's battery and resources, as they are separate processes running all at once. Ultimate reader combines these processes into one light-weight process.
- SMS: Reads incoming text messages
-- reads entire sms message without obscuring screen
-- "Reply after the beep" - reply to a text with your voice, hands free
Scenario: A text comes in. Ultimate reader reads the text out loud. The voice indicates that the full message has been read, and that you can reply to the message after the beep.
10 seconds go by (let's you think about what your message will be) and the beep goes off - another 15 seconds to reply to the message. If you reply, the text is automatically sent. If you do not reply, onto the next text message.
- Gmail: Reads unread Gmail
-- reads summary of unread gmail messages as they come in
-- set the poll (probe) rate for checking the inbox
-- ability to filter emails by multiple labels
* The only app on Android that will read your messages aloud by filtering with multiple labels at the same time!
-- skips spam messages (the only app on Android that does this)
- Caller ID: Announces caller by Contact Display Name
-- if the caller is in your contacts, will say their name (caller id)
-- does not interfere with ring tones (They still continue)
-- says the caller is unknown if not in your contacts
-- fits right in with any ringtone
-Battery Low Status
-- Tells you when battery is low and needs recharging
*Simply flag which options you want and start the lightweight service, that uses very little battery and/or resources.
It is recommended you download the iSpeech Voice Volume Adjuster app to effectively adjust the volume for this service.
Also works with most Bluetooth headsets.
caller id, gmail, sms, reader
Caller Id now unlocks the screen with an incoming phone call. Once unlocked, Android's native (stock) dialer screen shows as it would normally.
