The Functional Electrical Stimulation (FES) cycle is a tricycle for paraplegics. Through coordinated electrical stimulation of their leg muscles, paraplegics will be able to regain mobility by riding a tricycle.
This app connects with a custom shaft encoder and custom electrical stimulators via Bluetooth to coordinate the electrical stimulation parameters needed to perform cycling motion.
This is a thesis project by Ian Eow for the University of New South Wales Graduate School of Biomedical Engineering and School of Mechanical and Manufacturing Engineering, and is not functional for the general public.
