Flash Meter

Flash Meter

!!!DESIGNED FOR USE WITH SAMSUNG GALAXY S3 ONLY!!!

This Flash Meter allows the user to set correct aperture for proper exposure in the given lighting condition. It measures ambient light and calculates aperture using the chosen ISO and shutter speed values. It has three modes: Cordless Flash, Ambient Light, and Exposure Value.

In Cordless Flash mode, a cordless flash can be used to trigger the sensor. The flash brightness is used to determine what aperture to use for proper exposure.

In Ambient Light mode, the ambient light is used to determine what aperture to use for proper exposure.

In Exposure Value mode, the ambient light is converted to EV values for the ISO value chosen by the user.

No good for Flash unfortunately For Flash, if this worked it would be really good but I am afraid it does not. I suspect the hardware is just not up to it. Firstly it does not detect a flash power of less than 5.6 @ iso 100. Second I put the flash up one stop and the reading went from 5.7 to 16. I am using an S3 and the app users the front camera.

Not Good at What You're Installing it For Let's be honest, the big attraction is flash metering. As others have already said, it really only works with flash powers of 1/4 and up, and then only at very close range. And "works" is a generous term because, while the app DOES give an aperture reading, the values result in drastically over-exposed photos. We're all trying to save $200+ on a flash meter, but this isn't the answer.
