Gamesome Frontend

Gamesome Frontend

This is NOT an emulator and games are not included!!!
Before badly rating this app, read the support wiki or contact me if you have any problem.

The Gamesome Frontend is the first emulation frontend for Android!
This app will keep your roms organized, all you have to do is put your roms in separate folders - one for each console - and Gamesome Frontend will do the magic for you! Gamesome will identify each game in your collection*, download its cover, title and some further information. Once the scan is complete, you can view your collection in two different ways: as a grid of boxarts or as a list, with a side panel containing game informations. You can even search a game through your collection by title.

What makes Gamesome great, is its capability to launch your games with your favorite emulator**! One unique and fancy interface will handle all your games!

Since version 1.05.1 the app is developed on a Nvidia Shield kindly offered by Nvidia USA itself, and future updates will enhance controller support!

*: The identification mechanism can identify most of the officially released games for each platform, no hacks.
**: Gamesome Frontend supports almost all emulators (check the list above).
***: The compatibility list might change, some emulators might be added, but also removed if they are no more compatible, I do not take any responsibility for this.

Boxart Title Overlays = BAD I loved this front end on Shield TV, but the new update makes it horrendous to look at or use. Game titles overlay the boxart now which is a very poor decision. For instance, on Super Nintendo North American game boxes, "Super Nintendo" is printed in red along the bottom. Now that the title overlays it, you have text on text, making it unreadable. Please correct in future versions by making title overlays an optional setting or changing it back and my rating will go up.

Thanks for another update, a couple of things not quite right, on nVidia Shield Console, entering each boxart section quite a few times no grey boxout appears to move around so i have to keep backing out and going back in until one appears. I like the new scrolling text, but is there anyway for you to add an optin for us to decide what grid size we want, 7x3, 7x4 or whatever, the new update makes it look bare on bigger box sizes i.e 32x, megadrive as you only get two rows of 7 games now leaving a gap at the top and bottom. Other than that, keep plugging away and please add the new format cores on retroarch when u get time, oh check the Sega Saturn emu out its amazing! Hope u can support it.

This blows away Nostalgia on OUYA. There's so many options. You can hide games. You can add info for each game. You can add your own boxart if you like. It works well too. I really recommend buying it and not pirating it. It's worth every penny and you have update support. It's the best frontend for retro consoles on any device. I'm using it on the Nvidia Shield Android TV. It runs flawlessly. This is a must buy for fans of retro emulation!
