DLNA is a standard, so why I cannot use this app with some other set of servers?

Good, but there's a problem. When I switch to a different app, then hold down the home button to bring it back up, it stops playing the current song and I have to start over. Need a way to bring it to focus without resetting it.

New app but still needs work. Useless when accessing large playlists because app takes forever to d/l data. Playback is excellent but needs serious help in managing data. And no search?!

Not completely satisfied! Way to complicated to get it perfectly custamizable .....wish it was more like Plex.........but it's 2014 and I've come to accept that there is no such thing as a perfect product!!

Generally Awesome I love this app combined with JRIVER media server. Couple of things would add to it tho. 1. Play all for TV series would be nice, Web gizmo has it. 2. tile view for movies instead of list view. See Web gizmo also. 3. Metadata for media... description, release/air dates, etc for video ... similar in album view for audio. Add this to web gizmo 2 please... Even lacking these, for play on phone or tablet as well as renderer control throughout the house ... Gizmo rox! 5th star for requested polish :)

Almost Excellent I've been using Bubble UPnP forever, but since their most recent update BubbleUPnP has become a truly mediocre app. Gizmo has been sitting on my android for months, mostly unused, but I decided to try it again. The good-- Gizmo is much faster than either BubbleUPnP or Media House at loading libraries and playlists. The option to display artists/albums in "grid" form is great. The UI is simple and intuitive. Gizmo sees all my servers and renderers almost instantly and plays them flawlessly. The less-good--The "picture" function is pointless. Gizmo loads my photos and organizes them well, but they only display in half-screen. There's no "slideshow" function or any other way to view photos except to page-back and click them one at a time. JRiver should either improve the photo functions or just do away with it. In music, the search function could be improved to find metadata like codec type, comments and the like. Speaking of music metadata, Gizmo offers no way that I've found to display it at all. Caveats aside, Gizmo is an (almost) excellent app.
