Check your refund status, make a payment, find free tax preparation assistance, sign up for helpful tax tips, and follow the IRS on Twitter, Tumblr, and YouTube - all in the latest version of IRS2Go.
Download IRS2Go and connect with the IRS whenever you want, wherever you are.
IRS2Go is the official app of the Internal Revenue Service.
When installing IRS2Go, you will see a list of Android permissions that the app requests. To help you understand why we ask for certain permissions, we’ve provided a breakdown of the usage.
Network - full network access; view network connections. These permissions are required to access the internet.
Location - precise location (GPS and network-based). The app allows taxpayers to search for nearby Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) and the Tax Counseling for the Elderly (TCE) locations, which offer free tax help for taxpayers who qualify.
Phone - directly calls phone numbers. The app allows users to make phone calls to the IRS or VITE/TCE locations.
Storage - read the contents of your USB storage; modify or delete the contents of your USB storage. The Free Tax Help mapping feature uses these permissions to save map data to your phone's storage. This means that your phone won't need to download the same map data every time.
IRS2Go now provides easy access to mobile-friendly payment options like IRS Direct Pay, offering you a free and secure way to pay directly from your bank account. You can also make a credit or debit card payment through an approved payment processor.
This version also adds a map view to the Free Tax Help feature, and includes user interface updates, bug fixes, and enhanced accessibility features.
