ImageMeter

*** This Old House TOP 100 Best New Home Products: "a superpower for anyone shopping for furnishings to fit a space" ***

ImageMeter lets you measure dimensions, angles and areas in your images with ease. No more need to draw a sketch of your new apartment in order to plan the new furniture. Simply take a photo and annotate it with the dimensions on your phone or pad.

What is special about ImageMeter is that it enables you to measure within the image long after you took the picture. It often happens that after taking the photo, being back at home or in the office, one realizes that some important distances have not been measured. This is no problem anymore with ImageMeter, because it enables you to measure the missing data directly from the photos, afterwards. Additionally, with this feature, you can also easily measure the dimensions for places which are too difficult to reach. This works whenever the objects you want to measure are within a plane (even if it is only virtual) and if you can provide a reference rectangle for ImageMeter. ImageMeter will take care of all perspective foreshortening and still compute the measurements correctly. You can also have as many measurement planes in one image as you like.

Features:
- measurements of lengths, angle, and arbitrarily shaped areas
- metric and imperial units (even formats like 1' 2 3/4" are supported)
- value input with autocompletion
- text annotation with user definable preset texts and automatic text formatting
- export to PNG and JPEG
- sort your images into subfolders and export complete folders as ZIP archives
- Bluetooth connectivity to Leica Disto laser distance meters for lengths, areas, and angles. Even the measurement unit is transferred automatically. Tested with D3a-BT, D8, and A6.
- Support for Hilti PD-38 (this is the only app that supports this device).

This is the free version with watermarks in exported images, some limitations on the number of measures per photo and limited Bluetooth measurement distance. For the full version, either install the pro version or upgrade within the free app. Both ways give you the full set of features.

Disto 810 touch support. Hi I just purchased image meter pro because I thought that the free version had limitations for sending bluetooth measurements from a leica disto 810 touch to the image meter app, turns out I'm having the same problems after ugradging, the program does not recognise the D810 tough bluetooth. Is that correct? No support for the D810 touch? In settings, the image meter recognizes it as being a paired device but when I click the bluetooth button on the home screen of the app, it says 'Bluetooth connection failed'. I'm on andoid 4.3? It's samsung galaxy note 10.1 2014 and the Lecia disto 810 touch has bluetooth 4.0. I know that the leica 810 and the galxynote work together because I usually use their propriety program. Does it work with your app or not? Seem like it would be the best app around for the type of app, if it would just have the bluetooth support for new model distance measures.

Spot on. Its exactly what iv been looking for. You can measure other objects at the same distance as objects that you know the dimensions of. Took me a while to figure out the reference and attach feature but its supprisingly good. Forgot to mention im using an S3 and it works smoothly. Only issue was when my phone got hot as I had too many things going but thats my own fault.

Just Bad If I can suggest something is to not buy this app. No pdf export, no angle calculation, not good enough export (in jpg or png you just can't read the annotation).
