InstaRecord

InstaRecord is the quickest way to record audio with your phone.
There's no [REC] button: just open the app and it starts recording high-quality audio.

Why is it so awesome?
InstaRecord is perfect for when a monkey starts talking in a human voice to you and then it says,"No-one will ever believe you!" just before the zookeeper shows up. Sure, you could fumble around with a regular recorder but it would take forever and the monkey would figure out what you were doing, and there goes your chance to make megabucks selling your story to the tabloids. Nobody should have to suffer this disappointment.

Settings
Even though the app is super-simple, you can change how it works. Open the settings (companion app with a wrench icon) and you can make these adjustments:
* change the soundwave display duration (default is ten seconds)
* change the display colors
* change the audio quality (default is max)
* get a prompt to give recording custom names
* open recent recordings

Permissions
There are four we had to use for InstaRecord:
Storage: the app needs to save audio to the SD card.
Network communication: to get the ads in the settings screen.
Phone calls: ads do a 'Read Phone State' ping or it doesn't count as an ad impression.
Hardware controls: the app needs to access the microphone.

Feedback
If you like it or don't like it, say why in your review comment. That way we can make it better instead of just being sad and grumpy and eating a whole family-sized thing of pretzels and getting thirsty just after running out of Mountain Dew. We made this app because it's slightly more awesome than what's out there already, so if you can use your words then it'll be better next time, we promise.

Works well, but doesn't allow you to choose the save location. This app works amazingly well, and it's really easy to use; the only problem is that you can't specify which folder to auto-save recordings to.

A genuinely practical voice memo recorder Lots of sound recorders on Google Play, including pretty ones with retro pictures of tape cassettes and clever ones with dozens of options for dictating that best-selling novel, but this is the *only* one which seems to really grasp the reality of needing to capture a quick voice memo while out and about. One press, quick start, instant save of a few seconds of "Call Doris!". Please help make this app popular enough for the developer to be encouraged to add the only feature I really miss here - to be able to choose the destination folder, as one can in stable-mate program InstaNote Pro. (Sorry I forgot to call, Doris.)

Very good but... I can live without being able to set my directory, but please don't send my recordings into my Music folder for me to have to go looking through.
