[ACCOLADES]

- Reviewed in Computer Music magazine and received a 9/10!
- Listed as one of Music Radar’s best Android music making apps!

[DESCRIPTION]

Jasuto is the world’s first (and most powerful) modular synthesizer for the Android platform and optimized to run on Android phones and tablets.

Jasuto allows you to visually construct your own synths/effects, and use them to make sequences all on your device! With the addition of a fully-featured sampler you can now record/resample/edit, and even create entirely new samples by drawing right in the app.

Jasuto uses the relative position of nodes and their connections to control the sound. So the scene not only represents the synthesis structure, but also a custom multi-touch control surface. Motion can be recorded per node giving you rich, flexible automation.

Connections can be created automatically by simply dragging nodes around, or manually. Each wire can be double-tapped to allow even more control of each connection.

Jasuto comes installed with 75+ modules as well as 200+ pre-loaded scenes and samples. Each of the modules have been hand-optimized for your device's CPU, allowing you to create extremely complex scenes.

[NOTABLE FEATURES]

- Anti-aliased oscillators with hard-sync, FM, PWM, PM
- Analog style filters (ap, lp, hp, bp, ladder emulation)
- Signal control (compressor, limiter, gate, follower)
- Zoomable sampler editor with several loop modes (normal, 1 shot, ping, granular)
- ADSR envelope editor
- Multipage/octave sequencer
- Tape style analog delay

User reviews of Jasuto modular synthesizer
This app has a LOT of potential but the latency (Desire HD) is too big to play live. UI isn't easy to learn. Probably works better on a tablet when you can actually see what you're doing, the UI-elements are quite small. If these things would get fixed, it'd easily be the best synth for android!

works on Samsung Galaxy S with T-mobile's OTA firmware update to "2.1-update1." (Older version was unusably laggy.)

Bit tricky to get the hang of it but check out the youtube videos (linked from jasuto.com) for some good ways to get sequencing going and you'll be making sweet tunes in no time!

Wow! Decided to finally update after all these years... I am always a sucker for a good implementation of a modular synth system and this one is intriguing. I do worry about putting any trust in it being supported considering how long it was orphaned for the iOS version. I can understand that sometimes a labor of love in such an niche market requires prioritization but you should never abandon your early adopters. Its not like you can make a million bucks writing an app like this but if you just came back once a year it would have been something! I think this was the first or second app I installed once I ditched my Windows phone for a Motorola Droid in 2010.

Great except for midi. Love this app. Exactly what i was looking for, now i just have to figure out how to harness it's power. The one problem is I can't get my Akai MPK mini to work. Works on all the other apps I have but not this one :( 5 stars if that gets fixed.

Midi not working Jasuto is great but I have bought the app to use it with my midi keyboard (Akai professional MPK mini). All my other music apps (Caustic, Heat Synthesiser, etc.) recognize the midi input. Jasuto doesn't. While trying to enable the midi input in the system menu I get the message 'no midi device'. This is a big disappointment, but I've decided to wait and see if the problem gets solved before giving the app a bad rating.
