At a time when the country’s youth was actively participating in Model United Nations a simulation of the United Nations, a team of 4 members at JIIT were more worried about things more relevant to our country’s political future. The team sat through multiple discussions & meetings in order to find a suitable way to increase the interest of the younger generation towards political discussions. The main problem that we faced was that the school/college going student was more excited to recite the UN charter that discuss the merits or demerits of Article 370 for the future of Jammu & Kashmir.
This is when we decided to adopt a unique procedure for discussions regarding the Indian political scenario. We modified the rules of procedure set by Minister of Parliamentary Affairs as per the requirement of the present day generation to produce what we proudly call the most innovative style of political debates: Jaypee Youth Parliament.
Jaypee Youth Parliament is a way we have given back our country its political heritage, afterall the biggest democracy of the world needs its youngsters to come forward and participate in the discussions that mark the political importance of our country; something which will only take place if political discussions are incorporated at the elementary level.
Being the founding member I wish Jaypee Youth Parliament all the best for its 2nd edition and take the opportunity to thank the other founding members namely Devika Arora, Abhai Pratap Singh & Aman Srivastava for the enormous efforts they put in for putting JYP in its current form.
