KoBoCollect

KoBoCollect

KoBoCollect is based on the OpenDataKit and is used for handheld digital data collection. With this app you can conduct surveys or collect data that can be synchronized into a database. Use of this tool requires building a form and then downloading and aggregating the collected data with separate tools, which are part of KoBoToolbox.

KoBoToolbox consists of several software tools to help you with your digital data collection. Together, these tools allow any researcher to design and implement a research instrument for digital data collection, to perform the data collection in the field, and to then aggregate the collected data into a database. KoBoCollect is based on the Open Data Kit's 'ODK Collect', and has been widely tested in extreme conditions for ease of use and reliability.

KoBoCollect allows you to use XForms on your Android devices to implement data collection.

Recommended for use with KoBoForm (a web app for designing survey forms), and the KoBoSync for synchronizing collected data into a database. Visit www.kobotoolbox.org for more information.

Recent changes:
This is a major upgrade from KoBoCollect 1.2.2 to 1.4.3, based on the latest version of the OpenDataKit. Now supports all screen sizes, more translations, and all latest devices. You can now decide which buttons and settings to show to your interviewers - and hide everything else.

If you want to take surveys..... this is useful giving you the tools to design your own survey which will then run on Android handsets etc.. It is very "techie" though, which is why it lost two stars, and if you don't know what a database is you'll neither want it nor need it.
