LCARS UI

If you have any questions, please read this first:

Gene Roddenberry's contract includes a clause allowing any company able to create functioning technology to use the name. As such, I have created a functioning LCARS UI.

Please contact me with suggestions/complaints instead of putting them in the reviews, as many complaints posted have been fixed already. In some cases even before the complaint was posted. Other times, the functionality is intentional. If you can't follow this polite request, you can't expect me to follow yours.

I have included a few layouts, and intend to do more.
Currently it uses your device's sensors (so it is a working Tricorder in a sense) and detects nearby Wifi hotspots. Has a built in web browser which converts pages into LCARS format. An Alert Condition screen, an Okudagram (from the original movies) generator. You can use your Android device as a remote for a connected (via Wifi/3g) Windows PC. An auto-destruct timer (also shows the stardate) a periodic table of elements, a fully functional graphing calculator and various other animations from the show. Most screens (the non-interactive ones) can be used as a live wallpaper. It also supports Jellybean's DayDream mode, and homescreen widgets

I have added voice recognition to control most of the screens. But due to the nature of Android's VR API, it requires a second Android device to act as the microphone to work in real time like the video

See http://plus.google.com/u/0/b/113296486298236709829/ or http://sites.google.com/site/neotechni/Home/lcars/changes for more information, or click Captain's Log from within the app itself.

Note for those of you complaining it's not a homescreen: The definition of the term UI just means something the user interacts with. It does not mean "Homescreen for android" (Seriously, look it up). I don't know how you came to the conclusion that it did mean that when I have screenshots, video, and an in-depth description. None of which mention the word homescreen. It is a UI, not a homescreen.

Hands down, this is one of my absolute favorite Awesome App. The developer is very responsive and continues to develop the app on-going. I love playing with this app and can't wait to get my 2nd android phone back so that I can play with the remote voice control features. Hands down, this is one of my absolute favorite apps. I'm in it practically everyday and back here on a regular basis to see what new update awaits me.

Love it! This is the best lcars or even star trek app out there. The dev is always tweaking and adding to it. Thanks to the dev for all the time and effort.

Good, with a few suggestions to make it better. To make this better: 1. Don't randomize the button noises, there should be a specific noise for each button. 2. Try to lessen the time for the screen to return when screen rotates. 3. Give more functionality to certain aspects of the Lcars, such as the tricorder picking up actual signals, but random readings. Other than that, solid app you got here. Nice job :)

I really like it The only issue that bugs me is that it takes screenshots everywhere I go. I mean I tap stuff thinking it will make a noise or show an effect... but I get the "screenshot" messages and I have to run through my gallery deleting them.
