LCARS UI

Gene Roddenberry's contract includes a clause allowing any company able to create functioning technology to use the name. As such, I have created a functioning LCARS UI.

Please contact me with suggestions/complaints instead of putting them in the reviews, as many complaints posted have been fixed already. In some cases even before the complaint was posted. Other times, the functionality is intentional.

I have included many layouts, and intend to do more.
Currently it uses your device's sensors (so it is a working Tricorder in a sense) and detects nearby Wifi hotspots. Has a built in web browser which converts pages into LCARS format. An Alert Condition screen, an Okudagram (from the original movies) generator. You can use your Android device as a remote for a connected (via Wifi/3g) Windows PC. An auto-destruct timer (also shows the stardate) a periodic table of elements, a fully functional graphing calculator and various other animations from the show. Most screens (the non-interactive ones) can be used as a live wallpaper. It also supports Jellybean's DayDream mode, and homescreen widgets

I have added voice recognition to control most of the screens. But due to the nature of Android's VR API, it requires a second Android device to act as the microphone to work in real time like the video.

See http://plus.google.com/u/0/b/113296486298236709829/ or http://sites.google.com/site/neotechni/Home/lcars/changes for more information, or click Captain's Log from within the app itself.

Note for those of you saying it's not a homescreen: The definition of the term UI just means something the user interacts with. It does not mean "Homescreen for android" (Seriously, look it up). I don't know how you came to the conclusion that it did mean that when I have screenshots, video, and an in-depth description. None of which mention the word homescreen. It is a UI, not a homescreen. I made another app that is just a homescreen, called the LCARS Launcher

Recent changes:
-Fixed the 'allow back to quit' setting
-Widgets can now respond to the X/Y coordinate you touched them at, only from the LCARS Launcer
-Added a new Widget: Music
This allows you to control Android's music player, as well as view the current track information

Needs work Very nice start, but it really needs alot of work. The UI is complicated not self explanatory at all. I love all the diffrent consoles such as OPS and my favorite is tye trasporter console. It could look a little more real prehaps hqve a way to select a single transpoter sound. But the UI is complicated. Its hard to figure anything out. The games make no sense even with the directions. Most of the instuctions make no sense.

Nexus 7 Pretty app. It's very close to what I want, only the interface might be getting in its own way. Author wants you to contact him directly for support to answer questions, yet I've seen no easy-to-find link to do so here, his website, or through his own program... I should like to be able to use other, normal widgets in conjunction with this, or hope that widget development becomes more robust, as the weather will only show Celsius, even if you select imperial, and other things which I've run out of spa--

Nexus 7/LG Gpad 8/Galaxy SIII "OMG it's beautiful. I have to get a tissue to wipe the tears off my pad." These were the first words out of my mouth. Dev, you are to be commended, heck, worshiped. If you are having a problem with your device let her know. Don't leave bad feedback because you didn't try.
