I think it's good for lichenologists, but it's cumbersome for lay people. It would have more appeal to novices if it was set up to search by colors, shapes, and the object it's growing on. As it is, the user needs an idea of the genus to find it.

Technical errors, good pictures Vocabulary terms are sometimes wrong (see fruticose) and not well written (see squamulous) . It follows that individual descriptions are also erroneous, most commonly the fruticose/foliose type. I do not know names of species so I cannot comment on accuracy. I am enjoying the pictures and wish there were more notes.
