Locale GV Settings Plugin

Locale GV Settings Plugin

With Locale or Tasker and the GVoice Settings Plug-In you can control automatically which phones in your GV account should ring, based on all the great conditions Tasker or Locale offers, like your Location, SSID or Time. On top of that you will be able edit the settings for Do not disturb, Call Presentation, and Voicemail Greeting - all of that not only for the general setting, but also for each Group individually - if you want.

Locale Plug-in - it will not run without Locale or Tasker.

One of my favorite Apps. It works great. It will work with 2 factor. You just need to get an app specific password in your Google security settings.

No OAuth support. :-( I used this long ago with Locale, and recently wanted to try it again with Tasker. Unfortunately, it seems it doesn't support OAuth (only username/password). If you're up for using the legacy login scheme though, it does work!

Ring Hangouts when on WiFi & Sprint when not First off, I set up integration though Google Voice on Sprint (my GV number is the same as my Sprint number). Using this plugin, I set up a Tasker profile to force Hangouts to ring when on WiFi (Google Talk: On / Sprint Mobile Phone: Off) and for my regular dialer app to ring when not on WiFi (Google Talk: Off / Sprint Mobile Phone: On). It works fairly well, though Hangouts still rings in the latter scenario, the regular dialer coming up a few seconds later. I figure this to be more of a Hangouts issue than Locale GV Settings Plugin issue.

Good stuff I thought I was having a problem with GV login, but it turns out I was setting "no network" conditions for GV changes, and the lack of connectivity makes it impossible for the plug-in to change the GV settings (which explains the login failure). As a result, the plug-in doesn't accomplish exactly what I was aiming for, but it comes close and the shortfall is not a problem with the plug-in.

Now that I saw the FAQ about 2-step verification... excellent!
