Mars Defender: Space RPG

Mars Defender: Space RPG

An epic, story-driven arcade-adventure across the Solar System, Mars Defender is set in the 2130s, at a time when humankind is making its first tentative steps into colonization of other planets.

As a pilot of Mars Defense, you will fly the best spacecraft of the 22nd century as you defend the Inner System from attack and then engage the enemy to the Asteroid Belt and beyond.

Mars Defender provides a retro-styled overhead 3D view, in the style of classic Asteroids games. It features beautifully modelled planets, moons, asteroids, space stations and 12 different spaceships, all in full 3D.

Optimized for Sony Ericsson Xperia Play, and fully certified by Sony Ericsson. Works perfectly on other phones too. HD graphics quality on supported devices and tablets.

Nice game! So far a great game. To the reviewers who complain about the controls, I can understand what you are saying: the controls are unusual. However, having spent a lot of time on a boat, I can tell you that they are accurate. It takes time to turn a boat in the water since there is no friction working for you. You don't whip around like you can in a car. Anyway, I like it, and the accuracy is cool. So far, so good! !

Great but could be even better Awesome game! To those who find the controls difficult, while I kind of agree, I also think this is what's good about the game. It takes practice to get the hang of the controls, but as your skill improves there's a real sense of accomplishment as you progress from constantly overshooting or crashing to awesome precision flying and shooting. Some of the missions seem too hard, but that too might just be because I need more practice. Level 10 seemed overly difficult when I first got to it, but now it's a great challenge. I still find level 12 impossible, though. The story is nice, but it'd be even better if it were more in depth and really gave you the sense there's a cosmic war on and your missions are really making a difference. However, for $2, it's just fine the way it is. I like how each ship is very different to fly, each with its own strengths and weaknesses. To the reviewer who complained he couldn't be on both sides of the planet at once, that's the challenge. You won't make it if you choose the slower ship with greater firepower, and instead, you need to choose the speedier ship. There's also a strategy to which asteroids you go after if you can't get them all.
