MessagEase is based on many years of scientific research; it uses letter frequency and di-gram data to optimize the position of letters and characters on a novel keyboard with fewer, larger buttons. (That’s why the letter positions are NON-QWERTY!)

This novel letter position is often very shocking--even intimidating--at first. But persevere and soon you'll find it intuitive and very practical.

MessagEase keyboard also includes word prediction. To keep the package light, the word lists required for word prediction is provided in separate modules that you download optionally. Please long press on Hand and then go to Settings > Languages & Keyboards > Word Prediction for how to set it up.

Please also note that you can change the keyboard size by dragging up/down on the Hand button. You can also reshape and recolor the keyboard in various ways. See Settings for details. You can also change the font used for the keyboard; you can even re-assign new characters or hide and remove some of the characters: yes, it is customizable like no other keyboard you've ever seen.

If you like MessagEase, please tell others about it, and please make sure to rate and comment about it on Google Play.

Again, please write to us if you encounter any issue.

Thank you!

User reviews of MessagEase Keyboard
Long time fan of MessagEase from old Palm OS days. This Android version on Galaxy Note II seems quite sound. Yes, it does take a while to get used to. Yes, the included game greatly speeds that process and is fun in itself. I've been quite impressed by Swype and wondered if it would be better, but I think the balance tilts towards ME as the best input system for my use. 15 to 20 words per minute on general note-taking text is quite possible to achieve. I think the big issue is to consider what type of text you'll be writing. If your text is mostly common words and standard usage, then Swype's seemingly-stronger prediction may be ME's near equal. If you are working with a lot of acronyms, domain jargon, and frequently changing unusual words, then ME will almost certainly be better. I'd like to see the option to re-size the pad horizontally as well as vertically to further ease one-hand entry. I'd like more options for customizing the color scheme. I would like to have macros on the Android version. And, I'd be happy to see improved prediction. Still, from someone with quite a bit of study and training in ergonomics, this is one of the best solutions at the critical issue of rapid text entry that holds back many mobile applications. While voice recognition is very much improved, text entry is still far more accurate, and there are many times when I really don't feel like talking to myself just to jot down a few notes. Nicely done, ExIdeas.

Word complete in all caps? Since upgrading to 5.0, my word predictions are in all caps. Other than that, I love this keyboard.

Finally got me off of SwiftKey... and my bluetooth keyboard I've tried ~20 android keyboards. Anything from the fairly traditional (fleksy/swype) to the really bizarre (8pen, minimuum). I always ended up going back to swiftkey. MessagEase is weird. There's no denying that. After a few days I was intrigued but not sold. after a month, I hated using anything else. I was a die-hard physical keyboard user, so much so I carried around a tiny bluetooth keyboard. No more. MessagEase has some quirks, and the autosuggest is not very good. But I type accurately and quickly.

Could be made SO MUCH EASIER to learn. Please offer option to change order I would LOVE this keyboard if I could rearrange the letters to make it easier to learn. I'd keep the same main 9 letters, just arrange them logically, like this. Row1: A E I. Row2: H O N. Row3: R S T. It makes much more sense to group the first 3 vowels TOGETHER like that, on the top, IN ALPHABETICAL ORDER. I'd keep the O right in the center of the keypad; that's very easy to learn. Also R, S, & T would together IN ALPHA ORDER on the bottom row. I'd use similar logic to arrange the secondary letters. PLEASE make a version that has an option to let us move the letters, or at least just has a second setup with the keys in a logical order that is easier to learn. I would learn it ten times faster that way. As it is, I'm sorry to say I'm not sure I want to invest the time required to learn seemingly random locations. Too bad for me. It is great otherwise, especially for fat fingers.
