Meteor Counter

When you go out to watch a meteor shower, bring your Android phone with you. With Meteor Counter, you can easily capture meteor observations with an innovative "piano key" interface. As you tap the keys, Meteor Counter records critical data for each meteor: time, magnitude, latitude, and longitude.

Afterward, these data are automatically uploaded to NASA researchers for analysis.

Meteor Counter also provides a news feed and event calendar, which are updated by professional scientists to keep you informed of the latest meteor happenings and upcoming showers.

Cool but needs updating Wow so this seems like a really awesome app, it's just very out of date. The last "news" report was May 2012.... Being able to send in data is kinda neat though!

Calendar and news over a year old, like they just quit updating it. Info, news, calendar over a year old. It's like they stopped caring and quit updating.

Needs improvement. I tried to use the app during the Perseids last night but couldn't. To make it usable there are 2 improvements that are needed. 1. There needs to be a night mode that turns the display red so people can use it in dark areas at night. 2. If an internet connection it should record things for later download. Often I am in places with no internet or phone connections.
