hPa is and Android application that shows the best realtime weather you can have and sends pressure data to Metwit’s servers in order to perform the best forecasts in the world.
- Displays the best realtime data in the surrounding area
- Periodically sends pressure data to Metwit’s servers
- Creates incredible weather forecasts, based on the pressure data received
Built on top of Metwit’s weather API, this app was developed over the span of a single month by an awesome, young developer, Patrick Guido Arminio, driven by his passion for building something cool and with the help of the Metwit team.
hPa is the perfect example of how to best use Metwit’s APIs, both for accessing realtime data and especially for easily integrating and posting weather data to the platform, as explained here.
As Mass Cliff, Washington University Professor of Atmospheric Sciences, recently said:
“With this approach we could potentially have tens or hundreds of thousands of additional surface pressure observations, which could significantly improve short-term weather forecasts”.
Coming up in the next version:
- Sending weather tags
- Sending photos
