SUMMARY - mIDentity App Security Toolkit

mIDentity App Security Toolkit (AST) is the weapon against attacks to mobile computing. It allows any mobile application developer and any online service provider to create a platform for solutions requiring authentication.

Attacks are common in today’s mobile applications, from online banking to any data transfer solutions. Those attacks are possible in many ways without the users recognizing them, like app manipulations. Protections like one time password (OTP) generating apps and SMS messages are no longer good enough as criminals are generating even more sophisticated attacks to intrude mobile solutions. A comparison between the already existing security methods shows their dramatic weaknesses.

A secondary communication between trusted ends empowers the mobility and ensures the security. The solution is mIDentity Application Security Toolkit, controlled by a dedicated server called Smart Security Management System (SSMS). By securing the “handshake” between the local mobile application and the remote application server, it safeguards data confidentiality and integrity as well as the protection against app intrusions.

mIDentity AST functionality is integrated into the mobile application and stops offline attacks as well as online attacks. Building up these functionalities is an easy task for the provider using this toolkit. For the end user, it is only a download from the application store.

The first reference implementations are already available. One is mIDentity Trusted Web View that is a mobile app for secure web browsing with a mobile device – avoid pharming, phishing and other attacks to your smart phone or tablet. By that you can also filter unwanted web pages, use an own certificate store for trusted authorities (CA), a secure display for showing authentic messages, etc.

The other reference is named as mIDentity Trusted Message Sign, a downloadable application to secure user transactions by short and simultaneous messages but with reasonable lowered costs and more secure compared to usual SMS. The user knows that the messages he receives are authenticated so his business is safeguarded.

All these applications are offered by KOBIL, the company that secures your apps. KOBIL Systems is a market leader and trendsetter for highly convenient IT security solutions with a focus in the area of digital identities. KOBIL stands for secure data, secure communication and secure authentication on every computer worldwide.
