Version 2.0 adds the ability to create custom reminders and notifications
MisriCal converts Gregorian dates to the Misri Hirji calendar specifically for the Dawoodi Bohra Shia Muslim community and provides a Miqaat notification mechanism as well as a homescreen widget to show the date without starting the application.
* Conversion between Gregorian and Misri Dates
* Comprehensive list of Miqaats by month
* Homescreen widget that shows todays date
* Notification mechanism for priority Miqaats
* Directional arrows clearly indication the direction in which Mecca lies
* Compatible with Android 2.1 and upwards
MisriCal has two main components. The main application itself, and a homescreen date display widget.
The MisriCal widget shows you the current date on your homescreen so you can instantly see the Misri date each day. On touching the widget you can switch between Misri and Gregorian dates.
A further benefit of running the homescreen widget is that it provides notifications of priority Miqaats in the notification bar at the top of your phone.
The main application allows you to do adhoc conversions, showing the converted date as well as the weekday it falls on. All Miqaats can be accessed from the main application. These are listed by month with priority Miqaats highlighted. Also the main application displays priority Miqaats on appropriate days. The main application displays two rotating arrows working off the handsets compass sensors. One arrow points north, the other towards Mecca.
