MobileSheetsFree Music Reader

MobileSheets is one of the first android based sheet music reader applications available on the market. It allows you to carry your entire sheet music (or guitar tablature) library with you wherever you go. It also enhances the experience by providing features that all musicians can appreciate - annotations, a built-in metronome, music playback from your library, wireless bluetooth pedal support, the ability to jump between pages with a single click, and bookmarking. The best part is being able to quickly find the songs you want in seconds. Setting up your sheet music library takes some initial work, but with a free companion application for your pc, typing in the data is a breeze.

NOTE: This application is designed and optimized for 7" and larger tablets. Additionally, the free version places limitations on a few things. The following limits are in place:

- Only 8 songs are allowed in your library
- Only 2 link points per song
- Only 2 bookmarks per song

All other features are intact and identical to the paid version.

The companion app is for your PC and is not included. You can download the companion app here: www.zubersoft.com/mobilesheets/downloads.html

Recent changes:
- Complete redesign of the metronome engine to improve accuracy
- Added multiple metronome display modes (circle, glow, metronome)
- Fixed text annotations on devices running KitKat
- Tap twice on the recent button to clear the list
- Last selected annotation stamp sizes are now saved independently for each stamp
- Copied songs now properly copy the global zoom value (and other settings)
- Fixed crashes on the settings screen for devices running KitKat (4.4)
- Fixed various reported crashes

Locks up on my Nexus 7 Every time I try to edit the song data it completely locks up my Nexus 7 such that I have to perform a forced reboot to quit ! The same thing happens on the paid version !

Need two page view in landscape No pdf reader I have found allows for two page view in landscape mode where the page can be turned with a tap (not continuous scroll). Can you add this seemingly simple feature to your app?

Over-engineered, doesn't do the simple things I have a large collection of Jazz lead sheets in PNG format. My collection consists of over 4000 files, with some songs duplicated. My first approach was to use the companion PC software to copy my Jazz lead sheets to my tablet. This failed. My second approach was to copy all 4000 files separately to a MobileSheets directory on the external SD card. These also failed to import with the message ""The batch import has been cancelled". After discussions with the author Mike, the problems seem to be: - The format for the music filenames is not defined in the manual - Why use a Windows importer at all in the first place? It just adds unneeded complexity. Much easier to just copy the files across to the device's SD card and import from there. - The purpose of the import to database is unclear. Are the original files copied or are they reused? When I discussed this with Mike in April, he said a new release was coming. Still waiting, I hope this app doesn't become abandonware because of the positive reviews here.

The best Android app so far This App is terrific - it works with both sheet music/lyrics etc as PDFs or JPEGs and stores all of them in a library catalogue where you can filter by just about anything: Artist, Title, Key, Genre, Type etc. This makes sheet music/lyrics/tab very easy to find. It also has a set-list function so you can create song lists for every concert you play and you can open the songs from the set-list. It's like having a binder folder for each gig! When importing music, you can set the default zoom level on each page to cut the margins out of the music (for tablet viewing) without modifying the original files. The reader is fast and you can also use Bluetooth pedals for page turns. There are a few features still in production: the zoom doesn't allow you to scroll horizontally after zooming, the half-page turns are not implemented in portrait & continuous scrolling (such as featured in Adobe Reader). They are all apparently in production since 2012. Still for 6.99€, it's a very cheap buy and is bound to get better!
