Why does Mobiwol show as if using a VPN connection?

This is superficial. We've used technology available to us from within the VPN packaging module offered by Android to be able to gain visibility to your applications' network activities. However, no actual VPN connection is being made, no data is being sent externally by our application, and we do not tamper with the security of your personal data, so you can continue using your apps with peace of mind, and confidence that you will not end up with a higher than usual data bill at the end of the month.

Buggy Yes it blocks apps without root, although I find myself having issues with DNS resolution. Things timeout, even though they are allowed in the firewall and background data is enabled. Love the U.I but not worthy of the hassle. Swapping to a root based firewall till issues are fixed.

Firewall uses lot of data in WiFi Its good at blocking apps from using mobile data. After five days of usage I noticed the firewall had used 115MB of data over WiFi. It defeats the purpose of firewall. What is the need for it to use this much data?

Ideal to cut down on Data I really love the concept, simplicity, intuitive controls, and effectiveness of this app. As far as trust, the VPN seems to be local because my IP remained the same. I believe that privacy really isn't an issue, and internet speeds are not hindered by this "virtual funnel"
