Mono

Mono

Mono is for discovering and listening to music. It gives you access to the entire world of artists, their releases, their top tracks and their media. You can configure and prioritize music sources for playback, including your local files, Rdio, Soundcloud, Subsonic and of course YouTube - either on your device or on Chromecast. You can also view artist bios, images, concerts and similar artists and build, save and share playlists easily.

Rdio is supported. If you have a subscription then full length songs will play both locally and on Chromecast. For Rdio subscriptions to work on Chromecast you have to cast from the Rdio official app or web page first (only once). If you don't have an Rdio subscription then 30 second samples will play.

Subsonic is also supported. You will need to download the server onto your desktop/laptop (www.subsonic.org) and set it up with your music library.

Soundcloud integration has been improved significantly and now offers the following features

- Soundcloud on Chromecast
- Explore all Soundcloud genres to build playlists in seconds
- See Soundcloud users' tracks, playlists and likes directly from their track or by typing in their name
- For any generic track, step through all Soundcloud artist/track matches to chose the one for your playlist.

Regarding YouTube on Chromecast, Google has started to insert ads without giving developers the ability to offer a skip feature to the user. We apologize for this and are communicating with Google to try and resolve.

Permissions (working on making these optional)
- Calendar - to post concerts
- Microphone - to speak text
- Location - to see concerts in the vicinity

Last, but by no means least, please provide feedback to [email protected], especially the negative and creative varieties. We know many of you are using the features successfully but there are a few users who cannot seem to even run the app at all. We have tested on many devices but not every one, so rather than just trashing the app please give us an opportunity to figure out why it won't run for you by sending device specs, ROM version, and as much information as possible as to what is happening. If we then fail to resolve the issue by all means trash it.

Really poor overall Definitely not worth a yearly subscription, nonetheless a one time charge. I bought the app so I could stream SoundCloud to my Chromecast. Once you struggle through the poor interface and find the track you'd like to stream, it take several attempts to get the track to play. When streaming podcasts on SoundCloud, I fail to make it through the entirety every single time. It just cuts out. I wish I could find a better alternative.
